Hunting Jacket

Such a classic hunting jacket! The only disappointment is the black plastic zippers now instead of the old fashion brass zippers of the past. My son loved his birthday present!
Thank you

Great Jacket!

The Navy Blue jacket is a great multitasker jacket for the New England cold! I bought this jacket in person and then proceeded to go up to Montreal the next day, where temperatures were in the teens and quite windy. Even with not a ton of layers underneath, I was able to survive the cold and stay warm (in fact, too warm as soon as I went inside a building). You will not look out of place wearing the blue jacket around Boston or while taking a winter stroll through the woods. The cut on these jackets is a bit large, so I sized down to a small when I am usually a medium. Construction of the jacket is excellent, too. The zippers are black, but are actually brass YKK zippers. (if you get any jackets with metal button snaps, then the zipper will be plastic) I do not use the hood as I prefer to wear beanies. and sadly the hood is a bit small for me to fit a beanie underneath, but talking to the shopworkers, they're willing to make a custom hood for you if you are in the area. I hope Johnson will continue to make more jackets in the future that have modern/fit cut, styles, and colours. I'll definitely buy more wool jackets in the future, they really are just that nice!

gimmie shelter from the storm

I was undecided it was either filson or Johnson. After reading about the new owner/ management in one of your local papers I chose Johnson. As a winter bicycle rider a hooded jacket is a necessity. Filson had no such option, so l chose this Johnson woolen mills very fine jacket to keep the cold Montana winter at bay. The design, construction and materials of the coat are outstanding.

Nice overall, disappointing zipper

I like the coat, exactly what i was looking for. Heavy physical weight (expected) vs non wool but not too heavy (its a nice balance). I was disappointed however that a coat at this price point has a very cheap plastic zipper. A low cost walmart hoodie has a nicer zipper. I anticipate this becoming a problem with more use.

You Will Never Need Another Coat!!

I bought two of these great coats ten or more years ago. It’s been a while. Take care of them and they will last forever. You can put them in your will. I live in Texas and also go to Crested Butte, Colorado. The coats do well in both places and always seem to attract attention, something I’d never anticipated. One day at lunch, I was waiting by the ski lifts for my children and grandchildren to come down when a lady came by and commented on the coat’s quality and beauty. Later another came up and said, “It’s wonderful to see a man wearing that great style.” I had never thought anyone would say a word, not why I buy great coats, but their quality and style attract many looks and comments.

The important thing to me is they are warm. That is why I buy them. Do yourself a favor and but yourself one or two. You'lll stay warm, enjoy them and they will last forever as long as you take care of them.

Thanks for a wonderful coat and a great product made in America.
